The wonderful Coralie

So, I've been a bit useless of late with my blogging profile. Turns out running a business takes up quite a lot of time! I have been meaning to blog about the wonderful Coralie for a while now, after seeing her talk at a Penguin conference a few weeks back. So here are some of her beautiful new book covers for your enjoyment.

I feel rather annoyed that my copy of the Great Gatsby looks incredibly inferior to this one...may need to update soon...

aaah...ikea?

Not a phrase you hear uttered often, more likely, aarrghh ikea. You want to hate them because they're everywhere and beyond stressful, but then they go and create something like this and you have to hand it to them...this is a pretty cool cookbook by any standard.

My only gripe is with the cover, why didn't they follow the minimalist style that they have become ubiquitous for and used so cleverly inside. A missed opportunity I feel.

Magnificent maps

I went to see this exhibition last weekend with a few friends, its definitely a touch on the geeky side but some of the details are absolutely beautiful.

Possibly the most difficult design task ever?

Initial designs for the world trade centre site have been released. Possibly the most difficult piece of design to ever undertake, which I guess is why it has taken so long. Wounds needed to heal somewhat before it could even be considered. I think they've done a nice job, the pools which mark the exact footprints of the fallen towers, look amazing, and I think it will be a beautiful contemplative space.
